CadImporter Plugin

Out-of-the-box the Import System includes the CadImporter plugin that allows importing of CAD models.

To use the CadImporter plugin, just load it via the plugin_load console command or the following command line option on the application start-up:

Shell commands
-extern_plugin CadImporter

Compile CadImporter#

If you somehow change or extend the CadImporter plugin, you should recompile it before running to make the changes available.

Open CASCADE sources are required for recompiling the CadImporter plugin:

  1. Get the Open CASCADE sources.
  2. Build the Open CASCADE static libraries from the source code according to the instructions.
  3. Set the path to the compiled libraries in the OCCTROOT environment variable.
  4. Compile the plugin in one of the following ways:
    • By using the build script:
      Shell commands
      C:\UnigineSDK\source>build.py --plugin CadImporter
    • Manually with Scons: go to the <UnigineSDK>\source via the command line, type scons, specify plugin name as the build target and press ENTER:
      Shell commands
      C:\UnigineSDK\source>scons CadImporter
    • Via Microsoft Visual Studio: go to the <UnigineSDK>\source\plugins\Import\CadImporter, open the cadimporter_vs2013.vcxproj or cadimporter_vs2015.vcxproj project and build it.
