angus
We are not sensitive about hardware and only run on servers. We would like to move off Windows to unify things. Is this a hard thing to go through? Is there a serious performance hit? Link to comment
morbid
Hi angus, In some cases OpenGL shows lower performance compared to DirectX. For instance, self shadows for Cloud Layer works much faster on DX. All I want to say is that migration to Linux may require some reconsideration of image quality. Thanks! binstream
In general, you should expect about 30% performance drop, unfortunately. DirectX version of the video driver code is more optimized by IHVs. Link to comment
