werner.poetzelberger
What does that do and is this avoidable? Box projection On/Off. It is the Global Illumination in the Environment cube settings. Turned off GI, looks the same box/no box. Can this be adjusted or is this bug? Thx. werner.poetzelberger
Here a comparison. Funny, that the GI in the Cubemap isnt connected with the Global Settings GI. Link to comment
werner.poetzelberger
From the documentation: Global Illumination Enables the global illumination simulation. Environment probe generates fake GI by using given cubemap. Ehm. Okay. But is this a result which a) is desired, b) can be optimized? c) is realistic? ........ I see, so probably that answers my qestion. ;) Enabled Enables ambient ligting for the Environment Probe. By default, Environment Probes are used for reflections only, as for lighting, it is recommended to simulate it using Voxel Probes. This approach ensures the best result, however you can still use Environment Probe for ambient lighting by enabling this option Edited February 15, 2019 by werner.poetzelberger Link to comment
silent
Hi Werner, Do you have any active questions left? I guess that you already find out that for correct GI simulation you need to use Voxel probes :) I would also recommend to look at the following tutorials on lightning setup: https://developer.unigine.com/forum/topic/4819-unigine-editor-2-video-tutorials-lighting-12/ https://developer.unigine.com/forum/topic/4821-unigine-editor-2-video-tutorials-lighting-voxel-global-illumination-22/ Thanks!
