Object LOD recommended approach

Is there recommended approach for LODs? Having one mesh with all LODs, or each LOD as separete mesh? I am aware of advantages and disadvantages of both approaches, question is, what is recommended by Unigine?

Thanks for the question.

Best practice is using one mesh with different surfaces as LODs. You can check our article on setting up LODs.

You still can configire visibility distance for a group of objects but increasing number of nodes will increase CPU load. Also when creating vegetation you can use grass object as a low poly LOD for trees, check here.
