michael.stamm
Hi everyone, we tried the Ambient Mapper tool. Unfortunatly, the doc doesn´t say where the generated ao-map should be put in the material. We tried the ambient texture slot, which didn´t do anything. Then we tried it as an multiply-diffuse map, which did work in principle. But as the map itself is red, the ao on the object was red too. The technique works fine with the greyscale ao-maps generated in max. But we think, there should be also a way to use the kind of maps generated with the Ambient Mapper tool. So: Where do those maps go in order to work the way they should? Thanks in advance, Michael Link to comment
sebastianbah
Hello,The texture generated with Ambient Mapper is an auxiliary texture. It shouldn't be used as an multiply-diffuse map with no editing. You can generate ambient occlusion map for the second UV channel and use it as an ambient texture. To store the map in the second UV channel, the model should have been exported accordingly.Use Map property in Ambient Mapper to choose the UV channel you need. Link to comment
