DEM 32 bit support

Quick Question,

 

we have lovely 32 bit Geotiff DEM data.

Chopping it down to 16 bit to get it as height map is the ideas right now.(?)

 

Is/will there a be a change to get in 32 bit data for terrain creation?

 

>Edit: The other q. is if it make sense, while I guess 32 bit data is nearly impossible to edit in external applications(?)

i would suggest converting it with global mapper, you can nicely export 16bit unigine or worldmachine ready tiles from there.
just important to get the offset right when exporting from global mapper ,... to fit data within 16bit-range.

k. I am working on conversion right now.

I am not that happy with the tonemapping in PS. So will try global mapper.
