werner.poetzelberger
Hi, I have painted sucessfully some masks. After playing with the Landscape setting and reloading the world, the mask painting doesnt seem to work any more. Are there any known issues about that? wht could I have done wrong? Doesnt seem to paint the mask.... hmm. Best. Werner Edited November 10, 2022 by werner.poetzelberger Link to comment
silent
Hi Werner, Could you please record a short video how you do a mask painting? Also you can check the mask content via Helpers -> Show Landscape Data and see if there any mask data at all when you do the paiting. Thanks! werner.poetzelberger
I guess i do it the way its meant to be. As it worked normally. I add a detail material, rename the mask and define textures. The I define it in the landscape layer. Switch to landscape painting and use the tools. I played around a lot with the performance settings in the "settings" section like texels, texture sizes, presets etc. Maybe that messed it up? I will try to record a video asap. btw. I really emjoy the detail materials, especially the displacements. Awesome how quickly you can achieve results. Wished we had that for previous projects! Great tools! thx Edited November 11, 2022 by werner.poetzelberger Link to comment
werner.poetzelberger
OHH. I got it..... As a part of optimization, I turned OFF Intersections for the landscape layer maps! That was the reason why it didnt paint. Funny enought, the PAINTTbrush size does change dramatically when turning the intersections on/off. Might be a good thing, somehow to display that to the user, when intersections turned off. As I think it is a property of the object itself and shouldnt be 'turned off' for editing? So works normally now. Best. Werner Link to comment
silent
Hi Werner, Thanks for the update. Yes, intersection is crucial for terrain painting at this moment. I think there should some kind of solution that would not require any user interaction to solve this issue :) 1 How to submit a good bug report --- FTP server for test scenes and user uploads: ftp://files.unigine.com user: upload password: 6xYkd6vLYWjpW6SN Link to comment
