Terrain resources, DEM, Orthophotos for basic sketches

Hi,

can sombody point me to some opensource resources for creating basic terrains regarding dems (geotiffs) AND colorimagery (orthophotos).

I want to use the Sandworktool for doing some sketches for our upcoming projects and I need some resources I can use.

I found a couple of sources for DEMS like https://earthexplorer.usgs.gov/ or https://www.eorc.jaxa.jp/ALOS/en/aw3d30/data/index.htm or https://portal.opentopography.org/datasets

But I was not successful regarding color information (ortho photos) which do match to the dems.

Btw. https://portal.opentopography.org/datasets is nice, but I could not fit the DEMS to the rendered surface datasets. It seems that the somehow the projections are different? I am not an expert and just started using the Sandwormtool. Maybe somone wants to look at the sample data as well.

Here is a few online sources that can be useful (some of them available for download through the Global Mapper software):

Heightmap ASTER Global DEM v2 38m/px:

• https://earthexplorer.usgs.gov/
• https://asterweb.jpl.nasa.gov/gdem.asp

Landsat (Imagery with various quality):

• https://earthexplorer.usgs.gov/

Corine (Europe Landcover):

• https://www.eea.europa.eu/data-and-maps/data/clc-2000-raster-3
• https://www.eea.europa.eu/data-and-maps/data/clc-2006-raster-3

MRLC (American Landcover):

• https://www.mrlc.gov/data/statistics/national-land-cover-database-2006-nlcd2006-statistics

Vector:

• https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=3/69.62/-74.90

But not always all the data is available for free, so you may probably need to do a deeper search :)
