werner.poetzelberger
When entering the approximate correct radius of the earth, the clouds dont touch the horizont. Should I just enter a smaller value? best.w. Link to comment
devrom
You need to set the far clipping distance of the camera higher as well, but that probably is not feasible for such distances. Link to comment
werner.poetzelberger
This isnt affected by the camera clipping, but only by the radius. I just wanted to flag, that there is something not 'realworld' :) b.w. Link to comment
silent
What's your haze settings and camer ZFar value? If you will change max distance of haze in Environment settings - will there be any changes? werner.poetzelberger
I disabled the haze. Cam clip far 20000 These settings dont have influence on the radius setting. Using a small value like 200 000 works, but its a small Earth then :) Edited March 31, 2021 by werner.poetzelberger Link to comment

silent
If you will set ZFar to something like 200k / 300k - will be there any difference? How to submit a good bug report --- FTP server for test scenes and user uploads: ftp://files.unigine.com user: upload password: 6xYkd6vLYWjpW6SN Link to comment
werner.poetzelberger
hui. That changes averything, clouds, haze.... Yes it makes a difference. (my far was at 20000). whats the correct value for an open Sea scene, real world? When I dial the settings back to the defaults it starts to come together. Seems, that I have really messed too much with all the parametere. Tell me, should I ever touch those? Are they adjusted for real world? How should I begin and how should I set those? Interesting that you cant even see that far according this table. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sichtweite Optische Sichtweiten s für Sichthöhen hatmosphärischen Refraktion berücksichtigt für h ≥ 1000 m dünner werdende Atmosphäre berücksichtigt Sicht- höhe Sicht- weite Sicht- höhe Sicht- weite Sicht- höhe Sicht- weite Sicht- höhe Sicht- weite 1 m 3,9 km 10 m 12 km 100 m 39 km 1000 m 123 km 1,5 m 4,8 km 15 m 15 km 150 m 48 km 1500 m 150 km 2 m 5,6 km 20 m 18 km 200 m 56 km 2000 m 173 km 3 m 6,8 km 30 m 22 km 300 m 68 km 3000 m 210 km 4 m 7,9 km 40 m 25 km 400 m 79 km 4000 m 241 km 5 m 8,8 km 50 m 28 km 500 m 88 km 5000 m 269 km 6 m 9,6 km 60 m 30 km 600 m 96 km 6000 m 293 km 7 m 10,4 km 70 m 33 km 700 m 104 km 7000 m 315 km 8 m 11,1 km 80 m 35 km 800 m 111 km 8000 m 335 km 9 m 11,8 km 90 m 37 km 900 m 118 km 9000 m 354 km Wetterabhängigkeit der Sichtweite Wetterbedingung Sichtweite (km) Objekt- Mindest- Höhe[1] außergewöhnlich klar 280 5000 m sehr klar 50 125 m klar 20 15 m leicht diesig 10 1,25 m diesig 4 0 m starker Dunst, leichter Nebel 2 mäßiger Nebel 1 dichter Nebel, Starkregen 0,1 extremer Nebel, Schneetreiben 0,01 Edited April 1, 2021 by werner.poetzelberger Link to comment
silent
As always with real-time rendering all these numbers are relative, so you need to change only a single parameter at once in order to understand what's going on :) If you want to set ZFar 20 km (20.000 units) and see the clouds touching the horizon you can try to gradually decrease radius until you get the best visuals for your use-case. As far as I remember default radius 200 km (200000 units) was used to match 30 km visibility (ZFar) distance. After that you can try to adjust haze max distance as well. Hope that helps :) How to submit a good bug report --- FTP server for test scenes and user uploads: ftp://files.unigine.com user: upload password: 6xYkd6vLYWjpW6SN Link to comment

Dials dials dials. The Far Z helped, didnt expect 200km. A q. re. the clouds presets. I love, that you are presetting the correct cloudtypes. Are the rest of the types covered in the 2.14 release? Atm I can find the cumuli and the strati? Somewhere there was the post for those: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cloud_types#/media/File:Cloud_types_en.svg best.w. Link to comment
silent
All of these 10 cloud layers you will be able to add within the Editor creators in 2.14, don't worry :) 1 How to submit a good bug report --- FTP server for test scenes and user uploads: ftp://files.unigine.com user: upload password: 6xYkd6vLYWjpW6SN Link to comment
