Addition of road tool into UNIGINE terrain editor comparable to

 

UNITY road tool

Base Features

 

  • new ObjectRoad object for spline-based road geometry
  • road geometry with sizeable/tiltable borders per geometry element (e.g. for road socket/roadsides representation)
  • terrain smoothing around road geometry
  • terrain mask texture setting around road geometry
  • avoidance of z-fighting between road-geometry and dynamic terrain LOD levels

Curious as to where we are with this. I realize we now have the DecalDeferredMesh object, but will that be implemented into an actual artisan tool from Unigine?

It's somewhat time consuming and costly to develop this in-house.

Actually tool for both roads and rivers would be very handy. Generation of river/road meshes and decal masks (DecalTerrainOrtho) and necessary terrain adjustments. That easyroads tool does everything what such tool should do, so it can serve as inspiration.
