david.todd
Is there any way to mask the reflections of an Environment probe? We are trying to create an internal space with box mapped reflections from the Environment Probe but not apply the reflections to the characters within the range of the probe. Currently we are getting super shiny characters even with metalness at 0 and roughness at 1. This is happening for us on 2.7.1 and 2.5 Thanks. Link to comment
silent
Hi David, Could you please send us a screenshot (or even better - video) how does it looks like with and without env probe and it's settings? Also, could you please describe how did you bake the probe (step-by-step)? Thanks! david.todd
Hi Silent, it appears the problem appears when using the Grabber in the tools dialog box for use in the environment probe (appears to be a different format). If we use the Grab Texture button in the env probe then it works as expected. The grabber tool has an HDR tick box which uses the same format as the env probe but still gives us the crazy reflective results. Thanks. Link to comment
silent
Hi David, So, you have a solution for your use-case right now? If not, could you please send us the screenshots / video so we can check what else can cause this? Thanks!
