romain.janil Posted September 15, 2018 Posted September 15, 2018 Hi, testing some seldom usecases but nonetheless important to my evaluation of the engine: cloud layers don't seem to be able to receive shadows from objects, terrain etc, only other above cloud layers can cast shadows underneath other layers. Is this normal, can it be fixed ? thx
silent Posted September 17, 2018 Posted September 17, 2018 Ho Romain, Is there any specific use-case you are trying to achieve (like shadow from the mountains)? Could you please give us some examples (maybe with a photo references as well)? Thanks! romain.janil Posted September 17, 2018 Author Posted September 17, 2018 Hi Silent, yes of course high mountains above sea of cloud is the most obvious case but I was also thinking of high skyscrapers...
silent Posted September 17, 2018 Posted September 17, 2018 Yes, right now this feature is not supported. Clouds can receive shadows only from another clouds. That's not a bug, but rather than general technical limitation of current clouds implementation. I will add this feature for the future releases (but, with a minor priority atm). romain.janil Posted September 17, 2018 Author Posted September 17, 2018 thanks for your answer, that's what I thought, thanks for adding this to the list ,( I fully understand this to be low priority)
