[SOLVED] WorldTransformPath plays at wrong speed when off-screen

We created a path in 3DS Max and exported it, using the Unigine plugin to a .PATH file.

 

When playing the path, at speed 1.0 it animates at 25 FPS when on-screen.

 

When playing the path, at speed 1.0 and using engine.world.addUpdateNode (node_cast(path)) to force an update when it's off-screen then it animates at 1 FPS.

 

Is this a bug or have we mis-understood how paths work in Unigine?
