demostenes Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Since Unigine 2.2 I have problems with my cobwebs, depending on angle of camera sometimes they are rendered properly (white), but most of time not (black). It is standard alfa blended material, nothing special. Scene is lit only by pointlights. If if add worldlight, cobwebs are rendered properly (white). Something changed in 2.2, or it is bug? In picture bellow change in camera angle is only few degrees.
silent Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Hi Jirka, Could you please provide a small test example where we can see that behavior? As far as I know, there should be no issues. Thanks! demostenes Posted June 8, 2016 Author Posted June 8, 2016 I ve uploaded part of the scene with walls, cobwebs and light on your ftp (cobweb.zip). Maybe it is somehow connected to this: https://developer.unigine.com/forum/topic/3907-strange-artefacts-when-moving-camera/ Because with world light everything is OK. Also both problems started with 2.2.
silent Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Hi Jirka, Could you please check if changing Translucent parameter of SpiderWeb material to 1.0 will help in this case? In your case Cobweb is just get self-shadowed from the light source. All translucent objects should be translucent :)Thanks! demostenes Posted June 9, 2016 Author Posted June 9, 2016 It has some efect on color, but thats all. In case of self shadow I would expect, it will be black all the time, not only under some camera angle. There is no moving light source in scene.
silent Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Hi Jirka, Is it possible to get the exact that scene for testing (*.world file + all nodes and textures)? I've tried with your assets and Translucent option is worked just fine for me. Thanks! demostenes Posted June 13, 2016 Author Posted June 13, 2016 Sure, but it will take some time to prepare it.
demostenes Posted October 10, 2016 Author Posted October 10, 2016 I ve manualy replaced whole <render> </render> in world file by settings from lately generated worlds and it is OK now. Probably some garbage in settings cased by many years of upgrades.
