dmitriy.ogorodnikov
Hello ! Does Unigine engine has settings to appear shadows smoothly at Shadow distance (Render Settings -> Common -> Shadow distance) ? Now I see that shadows appears sharply by jump or jerk at Shadow distance. There is well known world practice. For example if I set Shadow distance to 100 meters it could be something like that: engine can add to Shadow distance 10% of it's value to fade shadows from 100m (strength = 1 that calls Ambient = 0 at Unigine) to 110m using semi-transparency (strength = 0, at Unigine Ambient = 1). So shadows can smoothly appears at Shadow distance. Link to comment
ulf.schroeter
This is something that is missing for years in Unigine engine, see this post. Maybe new version of engine will also provide long-awaited improvements on shadow maps. Link to comment

I think it's not very difficult, because they have already used depth buffer or simply world postition (of pixel) when added shadows to screen. Link to comment
