ulf.schroeter
Problem Soft LOD fading does not seem to work when setting surface min/max parent to 0 for surface individual distance fading. In this case surfaces just appear/disappear without fade transition (see road surfaces in test case) Soft LOD fade happens when setting surfaces Min/Max parent to 1, but then of course all surfaces fade in/out at the same parent-relative distance. frustum
I know this issue. Soft fade LODs can't work with non 1 LOD parents now. I will fix this bug only for symmetry min/max surface parents. In next update. samples/objects/lods_3 will shows this technique. Link to comment

Please try to reproduce problem with the provided test case and following steps. set LOD min/max parents for all road surfaces to 1 Focus camera on road top level node to set camera rotation pivot to center of geometry zoom in until road network is visible/fading in rotate around geometry pivot From different camera positions different fade levels are visible, but I would expect more or less constant fade level as camera distance should be the same when rotating around parent pivot (screenshots taken from opposite view directions). frustum
0-3 screens use fading based on surface distance (0 min/max parents) 4-6 screens use fading based on node distance (1 min/max parents) Both variants work ok now. Link to comment
