perfectsummer Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 In other software such as Unity baking process, I used my CPU with high load, but in Unigine I found that I did not use my CPU with high power, can I optimize and improve it in the future? My CPU and graphics card are i5-12600KF,4070, the baking speed is too slow, thank you
perfectsummer Posted December 30, 2024 Author Posted December 30, 2024 Sorry, my graphics card is 3060, but it doesn't matter, my computer is very powerful, I just see the baking time is too slow, I'm a little frustrated
Kolnest Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 @perfectsummer have you tried setting a high value in Samples Per Frame?

perfectsummer Posted December 31, 2024 Author Posted December 31, 2024 I'm a little confused, my computer is not heavily loaded, why is the engine not fully using my machine performance
Kolnest Posted January 3 Posted January 3 @perfectsummer sorry for delay. try to select higher values, for example 512 or higher, and see if this has affected the speed.
perfectsummer Posted January 6 Author Posted January 6 Yes, I tried to adjust it to 500, but the speed was still slow, and my CPU and GPU were not overloaded
silent Posted January 9 Posted January 9 32 bounces will certainly take some time. You can reduce the number of bounces to speed up the baking process. The current algorithm is not fully utilizing all available computing power, but this may change in the future. However, it is unlikely to result in a 10x or 100x speedup; a 2-3x improvement is more realistic at best. 1 How to submit a good bug report --- FTP server for test scenes and user uploads: ftp://files.unigine.com user: upload password: 6xYkd6vLYWjpW6SN
