kgregor Posted July 24 Posted July 24 (edited) This is Doom 3 remake, made with Unreal engine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3f9IEEP0B8 At first few seconds of video, there is fan on ceiling, emitting volumetric fog rays combined with projective shadows to the ground. Is such a thing possible with Unigine? Edited July 25 by kgregor
silent Posted July 26 Posted July 26 So far, without a proper realtime volumetric object that can interact with point light sources, it would be problematic to achieve. New volumetric lights are on our TODO list, but currently, we are not ready to provide an exact ETA on when they will be implemented. This is a 1 minutes test i made with the simplest settings on unigine and with a texture for particles i found on the basic unigine instalation i didn't even change transparency and i didn't put correct settings on the particles to make it more like the video i just wanted to show that you "can" do it with proper settings... The fan and the room has shadow mode: Dynamic Edit: (btw that shadow on the middle is from the middle of the fan...) Edit 2: if you make the particles big, with very slow movement and long life you can achieve the effect, also, make them bounce on the floor can help to fake the "foggy zone" effect... fan.mp4 Here, i made a less lazy one XD just make sure to have a good control on the particles... less lazy.mp4 Edited July 26 by Miguel-Alejandria 2
