Desktop view of VR is cropped too much

Hi,

When doing a VR session, the person with the headset has a much larger view than what is replicated in the desktop view. This is expected because of course the view in the headset are warped etc to adapt to the headset lenses.

But we have a use case where we want to monitor and record exactly what the user is seeing (at least for one eye), so we'd like to see in the desktop view a replica of the headset view, not a cropped view.

Is it possible? Could it be an option?

EDIT: "SteamVR/Display VR View" shows exactly the same view as the the Unigine viewport, ie without the warping :(

Thanks!

This is with a Vive Pro and Varjo. Not tested with the Quest yet.

Just to make it clear, this is what we are looking for (even just one eye would be fine)

I couldn't find a way to have this kind of view with the SteamVR interface

Btw, did you tried to change viewport mode via vr_viewport_mode console command in the engine?

You can switch between mono and stereo, but there will be no distortion as far as I remember.

vr_viewport_mode

This is what I was looking for! vr_viewport_mode 2 makes the trick!

Thanks!
