romain.janil Posted June 24, 2022 Posted June 24, 2022 Hi, just a thought, would it be possible to have an option to automatically "clusterize" similar instances belonging to an fbx at timport time. For the moment, the use instances option does what it's suppose to, meaning all nodes use same mesh if fbx contains instancesand option is checked, and all these nodes remain as is with their transforms. Most of the time tho this approach (fbx with instances) is intended to gain performance trough batching, or clustering Unigine, so for now, fbx with many (thousands) instances have then to be processed in editor (select similar instances/nodes, group them, make cluster from hierarchy). It would be a great time saver, if fbx import parameters could propose an option to do that directly there (or maybe it's already possible but I haven't seen it yet). thanks
silent Posted June 24, 2022 Posted June 24, 2022 Hi Romain, Thanks for the suggestion. Indeed that can be useful option. I've added this request for our dev team for the future releases (with a minor priority at this moment). How to submit a good bug report --- FTP server for test scenes and user uploads: ftp://files.unigine.com user: upload password: 6xYkd6vLYWjpW6SN
romain.janil Posted June 24, 2022 Author Posted June 24, 2022 cool thanks, hope to see that option one day! Cheers
