Viewport symbology in editor-- any way to use in application?

Hi, I'm now looking into the various GUI aspects of the engine. Interestingly, I think the editor camera does what I want to do perfectly by drawing fixed-size white boxes that appear like special sprites around the nodes, and always the same no matter what camera position. How is Unigine doing this under the hood and is this functionality available? I would be interested in drawing pure scale-independent lines as well, similar to the arrow lines the XYZ gadget. Thanks ahead for the helpful hints!
