Clouds touching horizon

photo

Recommended Posts

Hello,
Is there a way to make the clouds (ObjectCloudLayer) going all the way up to horizon?
I will show what I mean on screenshot - I cannot get rid of this space which I indicated by red line. When I have pretty dense clouds it looks unrealistic to have this empty space without clouds.
I understand that I can lower Z position of clouds node, but then the player will be inside clouds (not looking good too).
I've tried manipulate every clouds parameter but it seems like I'm missing something (?) maybe my approach to this problem is wrong.

Any hints?

Hey.

I think, the clouds are not covering all the way 'down' to the horizon. Would be an infinite size ;)

But you could use a second cloud object with a field weather.

The weather cuts out your 'player' area (where you are, camera etc.)

Then you can design these clouds separately to your choice.

Does this do the trick?

Best. W.

Hi @arzezniczak,

Werner's approach should do the thing. At least i worth checking. A bit cheaper in performance terms could be modifying environment presets: change environment texture, set haze distance equal to the camera far clipping plane and find suitable Haze Gradient value in clouds_base material.

Thanks.
