thomas.schreiter
Hello, i built a forest with the standard linden trees from the vegetation pack and then generated an impostor forest with the impostor creator. i use different sizes of the trees and these are not snapped all to the ground in the impostor. only the biggest trees are snapped to the ground. the trees are scaled in the middle. is there a trick that all the impostor trees snapping to the ground (also the little ones) or is that a bug? maybe the pivot point of the impostor plane are in the middle. morbid
Hello Thomas, Can you specify witch SDK version is this? If you wat to randomize trees scale it has to be done in the MeshClutter (geometry object) first. Just change the Min/Max Height and spread values, then bake the impostors. Thank you. thomas.schreiter
that's exactly what i did. i set the different heights in the mesh clutter and then i baked the impostor forest with the impostor creator. no later changes in the impostor grass object. the trees in the mesh clutter object are standing correct on the ground. SDK 2.8.0.1 here are 2 pictures with the differnt objects Edited September 4, 2019 by thomas.schreiter Link to comment
morbid
Yes, there was a bug in 2.8 and older versions. We've fixed this in 2.9. I'd like to recommend updating to the 2.9, if this is not an option, you can do the following: Divide Mesh Cluster into 2 (or more) objects with fixed Min/Max Scale and spread = 0. Decrease density and randomize seed for each object Create impostors Adjust Pivot Offset in the impostor if needed. Thank you.
