t.coursey Posted September 17, 2018 Posted September 17, 2018 When you pull up the video grabber tool to save out animations or stills it would be great to be able to visualize what is going to be saved out "aspect ratio" wise. Take the below image for example. The viewport I'm setting up a camera in, does not reflect the 4K 3840x2160 aspect ratio the final image will be saved in. This is not an issue for real time sim's I'm sure. But for video saves and stills it would be nice to be able to setup a camera with the proper preview... Another option, very simple to maybe setup...is add a dropdown under the SCENE section that would force the aspect ratio of that viewport to a preset value (the user could setup different ones) ie...16x9, 4x3, 16x21 etc...
morbid Posted September 18, 2018 Posted September 18, 2018 Hello Trey! We have a task for customizing viewport resolution in editor. It will be the same as you draw in the second picture. Thank you! kobanrammac Posted June 7, 2021 Posted June 7, 2021 Hello, Is this feature already implemented? thanks!
silent Posted June 7, 2021 Posted June 7, 2021 You can set-up rendering Virtual Resolution in Windows -> Settings -> Render ->Screen to get the expected behavior (black bars appears and so on): But there is no UI that will allow you to choose from the pre-defined set of resolutions / aspects.
