How to achieve better ambient occlusion in Unigine 1.0

Hello,


 


I am using Unigine 1.0 .As you can see in the image below screen space occlusion is on with some settings in the parameter, i am using a cube map in the environment, but i always struggle to get a good soft occlusion effect where the mesh contacts with other objects like floor.


When the scene is poorly lit occlusion is seen prominently but as soon as i start to light the scene everything just goes flat.


In the image below the pillar in the extreme corner of the room shows some occlusion effect but the ones placed towards camera looks like they floating on the surface because of poor occlusion.


Am i missing any step to create occlusion in the scene.


Our management will be upgrading to version 2.3.1 but as of now can you suggest me something to improve occlusion in my scene using Unigine 1.0.? ambient_occlusion_question.jpg

You can try to bake AO directly to the diffuse texture in some 3rd-pary app if it helps. Not so many changes can be done in 1.0 to improve visuals of interiors.
