demostenes
When I have sun against my back, scene is lit well (it is noon). But when I turn towards the sun, billboards are very dark. Even worse situation is inside of forest, I cant see anything, everything is dark like in midnight. Which does not make much sense in the noon. In old version, I was using ambient light and some BB parametres (in materials) to solve this, but with 2.0 these are gone. So what to do now? Ground color in render settings is white. On the picture bellow is camera rotated 180 degrees: http://www.endor.cz/demo/light.png http://www.endor.cz/demo/light2.png Download the picture, browser is making it much lighter. Link to comment
silent
Hi Jirka, It seems that it can be fixed by only editing the content (adding ambient light is not a good solution). Our artists have a few suggestion for your scene (based on this screenshot): Try to put the white (albedo = 1.0) sphere to this place and check how dark is it. If you can send us a screenshot with white sphere in this place it will be good. Check the material settings for the enviornment (trees, rocks and so on) - albedo should be white. We have similar issue after Valley migration. Try to enable filmic HDR and tune it (render_filmic 1) in rendering settings. If nothing helped - probably you can slighly increase the texture brightness. Looking forward to see a screenshot with white sphere. Thanks! demostenes
Hello, 1) here is screen: http://www.endor.cz/demo/light3.png 2) I am using default configuration of Unigine trees on the first screen, so you are right, albedo for tree leaves was little bit grey. Making it white helps little bit, but there is still big difference between front and rear (actually problem only shifted, front is ligther, back is lighter, but diference is still the same). I laso think with little bit grey trees look better under direct sun. Billboars were all white, so there is nothing to tune, and they are very dark from one side. I tried to put translucency to max value (1.0), this helps little bit, pitty that effect isnt stronger. 3) Tuning filmic parametres makes big difference, seems like best way to go so far (still efect is on whole scene, sot not perfect) Also is there a way how to make shadows not so dark? Btw, atmosferic scattering for closer distance (5000m) hides moon billboard. Is there any way how to solve it? Would be possible to enable something like post scatering? Thanks a lot! Link to comment
cryunreal
Hi Demostenes! Lighting on your screenshots is correct, but exposition is not. You need use Adaptive Exposure for solving your issue. Link to comment
