I can't give any specific details right now because the water object / material are still in the research phase (so the improved version will likely be postponed until 2.1). Link to comment

Surely the 2.0 release must have some sort of improvements over previous versions right? You have some impressive figures for the Unigine 2.0 editor speed-ups but what about at runtime? Will we see the same level of enhancements? 2.0 features deferred rendering by default (instead of old forward one), it provides a very nice performance boost on most of the scenes. But there is still some room for even further performance optimization, which we plan to focus on in 2.1 release. The performance boost is both for the editor and runtime. Link to comment
