sergey.shandar
Hi, I've checked the heaven demo (demos/heaven_d3d11.bat) in different modes (Window and full-screen) and would like to share some screenshots with performance graphs. Window mode 1980x1200: Performance window: Full screen 1980x1200: Performance window: The question is why does Unigine perform better in the window mode than in full-screen mode? Best regards, Sergey Shandar. Link to comment
Guest shane.ploenges
Can we please get an answer on this? our simulator vision runs in Full Screen and it would be nice to know why performance is less then in windowed mode, when on most 3d apps the opposite is true. It is not a problem if we run in windowed mode and hide the window borders, but it would be good to know why this works this way. (and if other userns experience the same issue) Thanks Link to comment
silent
Hi, Sorry for the late reply. Perfomance in fullscreen mode should be the same as in windowed. To find the root of the problem we need some additional information from you. Could you please sent us Heaven log file? All you need to do is follow these simple steps: Run Heaven DX11 Benchmark. Close the application, Press Windows+R keys. Paste this line into Open field (without modification): %userprofile%/heaven Press Enter key. In Explorer a folder opens where log.html is stored. Attach this log file to your response. In addition to the provided info, detailed system specs will surely help us to get to the root of the problem faster. To do so, please follow these steps: Press Windows+R keys to open Run window. Paste this line into Open field: dxdiag Press Enter key to open DirectX Diagnostic Tool. Press 'Save All Information...' button and save log file to some location. Attach this log file to your response. And please, specify the version of SDK. Thanks! silent
We can reproduce such behavior only on ATI video cards (stable Catalyst 12.10 driver, Win7 SP1) with API level DX9 and DX11. This issue is related only with ATI drivers, so we can't really do something with it. However, on beta drivers (Catalyst 12.11 beta8) everything is running perfectly in fullscreen and windowed mode. Please, try to update to the latest beta drivers, or wait for stable 12.11. Thanks! silent
Sorry, but we can't reproduce such behavior on latest SDK (2012-11-16) with latest nVidia windows driver (306.97). To get to the root of the problem we need more information about your system, drivers and engine version. Please, look at my first post in this thread: https://developer.un...ndpost__p__9024 How to submit a good bug report --- FTP server for test scenes and user uploads: ftp://files.unigine.com user: upload password: 6xYkd6vLYWjpW6SN Link to comment
