[SOLVED] Clutter on mesh

I created a tube for a cave and now I want to use clutter to decorate it with rocks

for some reason the clutter will not appear I already tried changing the step and the density and the X and Y size but nothing happens

 

ANother thing I noticed is that when im painting the clutter mask I can only paint the ground and not the full cave, I would like to be able to paint on the ceiling too to cover it with static meshes.

 

Anyone got a clue what im doing wrong? Is it even possible to use clutter on a custom mesh? Are there any examples of this which I could check?
