danni.coy
Is there any way to tweak the quality of the dxt1/3/5 and 3dc files that come out of imageDDS. They are noticably lower quality than what we are getting using the nVidia Photoshop plugin Link to comment
dibyendu.das
Hi Danni, Comparative examples of Uncompressed, Compressed (nVidia) & Compressed (ImageDDS) would help elucidate the quality difference. Along with the version of the ImageDDS tool you've used. We've notice this at our end too. For us most of these are artifacts that appear in the smaller mipmaps as blocks. While such compression artifacts are there in ImageDDS, I think nVidia texture plugin has issues as well ( both in CUDA/ non CUDA modes). To this effect we have been using uncompressed textures for now- its not ideal but it works for now. -Dev Link to comment
steve3d
that's why we are using nvidia-texture-tools to compress the dds texture. ;) Link to comment
