romain.janil
A bit puzzling...is it possible to avoid some meshes (invisible and low poly yet shadow casting) to cast shadow on children impostor, because during fading between actual meshes (shadowed by those lp shadow casters) and impostors, the impostors receive shadows from those lp meshes. As they are "flat" yest having normals, there' a moment when they are too much darken by the invisible shadow caster. then when the impostors are fully visible, obviously the invisible shadow caster is totally fade out, so impostors appear normally lit and shaded (matching the meshClutter). Tried to play with shadow masks with no luck... shadow offset helps but not totally...(ie it works when sun is in one direction and camera in another and vice versa...) What i want is my invisible shadow caster meshes, to cast shadows everywhere, but not on impostors surfaces. Link to comment
bmyagkov
Romain, hello! Looks like you need to bake impostors with "Depth Map" state in terms to reduce this darkened effect. Have you tried this already? In case we misunderstood you, could you please provide some images or video with an example of the effect you want to get rid of? Thanks! 2021-10-29 14-10-26.mp4 Link to comment
