Earth Radius and clouds

When entering the approximate correct radius of the earth, the clouds dont touch the horizont.

Should I just enter a smaller value?

This isnt affected by the camera clipping, but only by the radius.

I just wanted to flag, that there is something not 'realworld'

I disabled the haze.

Cam clip far 20000

These settings dont have influence on the radius setting. Using a small value like 200 000 works, but its a small Earth then :)

hui. That changes averything, clouds, haze....
Yes it makes a difference. (my far was at 20000). whats the correct value for an open Sea scene, real world?

When I dial the settings back to the defaults it starts to come together. Seems, that I have really messed too much with all the parametere.

Tell me, should I ever touch those? Are they adjusted for real world? How should I begin and how should I set those?

Interesting that you cant even see that far according this table. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sichtweite

As always with real-time rendering all these numbers are relative, so you need to change only a single parameter at once in order to understand what's going on :)

If you want to set ZFar 20 km (20.000 units) and see the clouds touching the horizon you can try to gradually decrease radius until you get the best visuals for your use-case. As far as I remember default radius 200 km (200000 units) was used to match 30 km visibility (ZFar) distance.

After that you can try to adjust haze max distance as well.

Hope that helps :)

yep. Dials dials dials. The Far Z helped, didnt expect 200km.

A q. re. the clouds presets.

I love, that you are presetting the correct cloudtypes.

Are the rest of the types covered in the 2.14 release? Atm I can find the cumuli and the strati?

Somewhere there was the post for those: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cloud_types#/media/File:Cloud_types_en.svg
