ToneMapper (2.11) VS Filmic (2.10)

I found the part, which I guess causes the differences in the appearance of the scene.

Did the values transpose to the 'new system in 2.11' when I UPDATE the scene via  the UPDATE script in the SDK browser? I guess so, as they are almost giving the same result, but not completely!

If I enter the same values from our 2.10 scene into 2.11 (new system?) then the result looks completely different.

What has changed?

Thanks for this!!!

Stops my frantic search ;)

I will use the LUT, sure.

Btw... LUT. .tga files produce weird results. I use uncompressed .dds texture. Hope that is valid.

Thx.w.

Here the comparison --DDS witout any artefacts, TGA producing Banding.

Same texture.

I didnt do anything crazy. Just a desaturation and a curve correction.

TGA is 24 bit uncompressed, DDS is ARGB 8.8.8.8

Hi, Werner!

There is wide know issue (on GPU chipset side) with DXT1, DXT3, DXT5 image compression which is provide banding effect with gradient textures like LUT.

Exactly cause of this when you click on Inherit in Settings > Color here  изображение.png LUT texture appears as "unchanged" .dds file without any compression.

TL:DR use "unchanged" settings for texture or set RGB8/RGBA8 image format in import settings to prevent "banding" effect

Thanks!
