4k monitor Editor problem

Recommended Posts

Hey, I have a 4k monitor, but when i run the UNIGINE Editor, the program only runs in 1080p. How to I make it run in 4k?

Everything feels blurry with 1080p, when i'm used to 4k.

Here is the photo. The photo may look normal, if you have a 1080p display. But with a 4k display it feels blurry.

It is captured at 3840 x 2035.

I had the same problem with Fusion 360, running in 1080p. But I solved that by right clicking on the program, and enable "High DPI scaling override". Now it is running in 4k.

I tried to do the same with "Editor_x64.exe" and "Editor_x64d.exe", but nothing happend, still running at 1080p.

"Editor_x64.exe" and "Editor_x64d.exe" located at C:\Users\USER NAME\Unigine SDK Browser\sdks\community_windows_2.11.0.1\bin

You need to apply this for each project that created via SDK Browser (each project contains independent copy of the Editor).

Here is also an additional solution (thanks to Redphoenix from our discord server) to improve scaling in Editor:

  • In Registry Editor (regedit) open
    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options

  • Create new key (folder) named Editor_x64.exe and Editor_x64d.exe and add a new DWord called dpiAwareness:00000000 (its standard 0 value).

We are working on improving HiDPI support and I hope that some changes will be already included in the next SDK update.

Thanks!
