Horizon offset

Hi,

We are currently delivering a simulator with a cylindrical projection screen of 4 meters in height. By default this would result in a horizon of 2 meters from the floor. As the trainee will be standing on the floor, the horizon would be too high and we needed to offset it.
To compensate for this we lowered the horizon by about 30-40 cm to accommodate for more average sized persons.

We did this by cropping the outputted texture from Unigine, taking away parts of the bottom and sides of the texture. Please see the image below for an abstract representation of the solution.

With this solution there is a resolution loss as pixels are removed and the resultant texture is of less quality because of it. We currently output 1920x1080 and increasing this would not be desirable due to performance limitations as we need to keep the simulation running at 60Hz.

We were wondering if the Unigine Engine can support something similar for this Horizon offset while maintaining resolution and performance? If not, other suggestions on solving this are welcome as well. Unfortunately we cannot place the trainee on a 40cm stool ;)

Thank you for your assistance!

Cheers,

Maarten
