f.reichl
Hi all, we've repeatetly been experiencing issues with the Unigine Editor seemingly randomly deleting assets. After some investigation, we've found the problem to be reproducable. There seem to be some issues when working with the Perforce Helix version control system. We're using Unigine 2.7.3.1, Perforce Helix Core 2019.1 and the Helix Visual Client 2019.1, but we've been experiencing the same problems with Unigine 2.8 and any combination of older Perforce Versions. Whenever an update of assets is done through the Perforce Client while the Unigine Editor is running, the assets are completely deleted by Unigine (including the .meta file) after the Editor window regains focus and does an asset reimport. It's quite simple to reproduce for us: Have a project open in Unigine Editor Modify any material in Unigine Go to the Helix Visual Client and revert the modified material (JUST the material, not the meta file) As long as Unigine is not in focus, everything is fine - the material file is existing, there are no irregularities regarding access rights, timestamps or anything Focus Unigine again - asset reimport starts and the material is deleted from the file system, including the meta file Did anyone experience this issue? Out current workaround is to always close the editor before updating, but obviously this is far from ideal, and if you forget this Unigine potentially deletes hours of work... silent
We've tried different ways of reverting files with Perforce, but results are totally OK. Material file is reverted and changes appears in Editor. May I ask to record a video that shows how to get a reproduction? If it contains some sensitive data, please, don't hesitate to PM me a link to the video. It will surely help us in understanding what is going on. Thanks!
