demostenes
Are there any requirments (mesh/texture) to be able to use new SSS + translucency for vegetation in 2.8? I ve set up green color in render settings, enabled this feature, turned on for leaves and it makes visual artefacts. Tried on 03_Poplar_skan. Applying on grass in db.world it creates blinking artefacts: Edited April 30, 2019 by demostenes Link to comment
morbid
I'll check it with your content, but right now it looks like big SSS radius value. Have you tried adjusting this parameter? You also can check how updated SSS works in Samples->materials. Thanks. Bigger the value, bigger artefacts. Link to comment
morbid
Okay, I see why these artifacts appeared. To use this new feature with vegetation you need to disable SSS in Render settings. Vegetation SSS is controlled via 3 parameters: Translucent Color in Settings -> Render -> SSS Translucent in material Translucent Depth in Settings -> Render -> Shadows Thanks.
