werner.poetzelberger
I have edited the post as it is a different issue as further tests show. Further investigations show, that this 'SUN' is always there as soon as you activate the option: Backside Normal -> To Front Side. It is somehow a reflection, but its always there and we have no clue where it is coming from. Edited November 13, 2018 by werner.poetzelberger Link to comment
morbid
Hi Werner, it's unclear how you did this :) You're using mesh_base with Backside normals set to Front Side. But what's the next step? Can you explain how to reproduce it? Or attach a small scene. Thank you. werner.poetzelberger
Hi. The first image is just an empty scene with a primitive, Sphere. Mesh_base material and turned on 2_sided. Option Backside Normal -> To Front Side. Material option: Alpha Blend, and turn down the transparency, thatyou can see into the sphere. Then you can experience that 'highlight'. We were trying to figure out, where it is coming from, but we have no clue. Edited November 14, 2018 by werner.poetzelberger Link to comment
vvvaseckiy
Hello werner, It seem that highlight comes from environment reflection. I've added this issue to our internal bugtracker, but unfortunately can't give you any ETA on when it will be fixed Sorry for the inconvenience caused Link to comment
morbid
Werner, I also would like to note that this feature was introduced for vegetation objects (leaves, grass etc). Your use case is not usual, we need to discuss with our team how should it work (if it should). Thank you! werner.poetzelberger
Okay. Thanks for the reply. Yes, maybe it is unusual in our case. I will not use it anyway now, but it is an interesting feature, which gave some interesting results. But I guess, the lighting by the env. reflection shouldnt be that way? Maybe it should ;) Thanks Werner Edited November 19, 2018 by werner.poetzelberger Link to comment
