neale.murray
Hey Team, After watching the tutorial videos about the Global Terrain it advises that you can "inset" higher resolution terrain tiles on top of low resolution ones. Can you explain that a bit further, or is that when you are setting up your global terrain it has a small higher resolution height map and it then generates the higher resolution terrain there. silent
Hi Neale, Inset should be generated from a higher resolution data (if you are using GeoTiff 30m/pixel for whole terrain, inset can basically be with any higher density, like 1m/pixel). ObjectTerrainGlobal right now has various density grid, so where it's required heights will be in higher resolution (inset area), but whole other terrain will be unchanged and still rendered in low res. You can additionally configure LODs distances and density values if required in Landscale Tool. Thanks! neale.murray
Thanks Silent, So that mean's its not a separate global terrain or anything it's just a few of the geotiff height images have a higher resolution than the rest and those tiles get a better mesh generation (higher resolution lods) when rendering the terrain. silent
Hi Neale, Yes, that's a single terrain object with seamless blend between areas with different density.
