cloth sim issue

Recommended Posts

I'm having difficulties getting my head round this issue... I'm working on an animated horse with flowing mane/hair and am trying to apply physics to the mane to get it to flow (so am using cloth) but can't get it to work correctly. I'm trying to follow the steps in the https://developer.unigine.com/en/docs/2.6.1/principles/physics/bodies/cloth/?words=cloth#attaching doc can't get it work right. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Gary,

Cloth setup may be very tricky in some cases. If you can easily replace simulated cloth with pre-baked bone-based MeshSkinned - it will be much more efficient (in terms of visuals and performance, of course).

Anyway, without a test scene it will be hard to get any valuable advice. Could you please provide a test scene for debugging?

Thanks!

Hi, Gary.

I've attached a test scene with your model with cloth simulation. Even for simple geometry (i used plain and your fbx) it is costly in terms of time and final performance. Body Cloth works fine with static geometry.

I guess the best way here is to use bone-based animation.
