rohit.gonsalves_
Hello, I have following questions. 1] Is it possible to have Unigine materials to be seen in Max? 2] When we do node export the diffuse maps are exported correctly to textures directory but normal maps gives error. What to do? 3] In maya there are only mesh export and skin mesh export. Camera and spline export is not present, isn't it? Thanks and Regards, Rohit Gonsalves. Link to comment
Guest extaliones
1] Is it possible to have Unigine materials to be seen in Max? No. Due to severe differences in material systems of Unigine and 3D content creation tools like 3ds Max/Maya we recommend you to adjust materials in UnigineEditor since you'll have better performance in run time with this approach. 2] When we do node export the diffuse maps are exported correctly to textures directory but normal maps gives error. What to do? Nodes should be exported separately. Materials should be assigned in the editor, after the export is done, as Unigine has its own material system. 3] In maya there are only mesh export and skin mesh export. Camera and spline export is not present, isn't it? Unfortunately, there are little differences between 3ds Max and Maya plugins. In the near future we will correct this issue. Link to comment
rohit.gonsalves_
Hello, Nodes should be exported separately. Materials should be assigned in the editor, after the export is done, as Unigine has its own material system. We have created some content in 3ds Max. When We do Node export from export plug-in the exporter creates following things Folder meshes - it stores the meshes Folder textures - it stores the diffuse maps .mat file - its a material with texture paths referenced from textures folder .node file - its a node with reference to mesh and .mat file. But in max if we use normal maps it gives error to export it. This is complete explanation about the problem. I understood your point that materials will be assigned in editor; but my question is why don't it exports normal maps also in the textures folder and then when node will be imported to any world just add this material and everything is ready. Guest extaliones
Hello, Which version of 3ds Max plugin do you use? Please, attach the error screenshot. Link to comment
rohit.gonsalves_
Hello, Which version of 3ds Max plugin do you use? Please, attach the error screen shot. We use Max 2009 plug-in. The important thing is that the exporter correctly exports diffuse maps. But gives error to export normal maps. Link to comment
Guest extaliones
Hello. Seems that it is file saving problem. Try to save file to D drive. Another way to change path variable. To enable export *.node file with materials, the following chages to environment should be made: add to %PATH% variable locations of the following directory: %UNIGINE_DIR%\Evaluation Kit\tools. Please, see the attached screenshot. 1 Link to comment
