Gratulations on that installation! Looks fabolous. I also am delighted to see, projects realized for permanent use and for the public (we are doing similar things). This is always a total different category.

 

Amazing. Would love to see some moving images. Is there a link to the museum?

The NPC code is also on the list to be tuned up and if we can make a gain on this (which is quite costly on update - due to the amount of calls for the buoyancy hacks)

 

Just read this older post once again and it came to my mind, that especially all kinds of buoyancy hacks (wave height calculations, terrain ray casting for collision detection) might be ideal candidates to be move to world flush function which runs in parallel to the current frame rendering (which normally take quite a while).

 

Even though this would introduce a 1-frame-delay (calculations in current world flush -> object attitude updates only possible during next world update) this normally is absolutely no problem, but should give a nice performance boost.
